Allen & Heath CTi1500 - LowMass case

Allen & Heath developed the CTi1500, a lightweight, portable mixing console designed to meet airline weight limits (under 23kg (50lbs) including its flight case). This was driven by touring professionals needing more portable, cost-efficient, and environmentally friendly equipment. To achieve this, the R&D; team reduced the console’s weight from 29kg (64lbs) to 23kg (51lbs) by targeting a console weight of 11.4kg (25lbs)(excluding the case), using lighter materials like titanium for panels, and maintaining durability with Zintec and aluminum in key areas. They also partnered with manufacturers to create a lighter flight case using new materials like Penn Elcom’s Ultra Flight. Despite the weight reduction, the CTi1500 maintains the same internal electronics and performance as the original C1500. Touring engineers appreciate its compact size, flexibility, and expandability through accessories and external devices.
The console reflects a broader industry trend toward lightweight, travel-friendly gear without sacrificing functionality.
