OCD-LowMass

OCD-Labs has been making light wheat packaging for the pro audio and entertainment industry for years. Its part of the DNA, the story of OCD. We started with the LITEFLY racks, a 19” rack housed in an industry standard injection molded case. These are still one of our most popular products, but they have there limitations.

injection molded cases are durable and waterproof but they are not what I would call light. Even the lightest of these products have there problems. This lead us to build the OCD-Low Mass family of products specifically to solve the problem of flying as checked baggage the new LV1 Classic from WAVES.

The LV1 Classic was a long awaited product form WAVES. OCD was one of the first companies to develop a solution to packages the original WAVES LV1. A way to package all the individual components of this ground breaking audio console. The OCD-CNTRL housing for LV1 was born. A console package that you could check on a plain. Under 70lbs with minimal hookup time, a dream come true. 

The big ask form WAVES was are you going to release an all in one Audio Console and they did it with the LV1 Classic. A slightly untraditional all in one audio console with an amazing screen faders and mic pre’s but it came in at 38lbs and the injection molded case that was recommended for it was almost 35lbs . Together your almost at 73lbs, 3lbs over the airlines 70lbs limit. So we set out to build a case that was strong and light so you can check your new console with confidence.

Part of what everyone loved about the original LV1 was the fact that you could take it on fly dates and hove your console with you. This led us to develop the Low Mass line of products.

The OCD-Low Mass for LV1 comes in at 26lbs. You add the 38lbs console and your at 64lbs plenty of room to add a power cable and not worry if your going to be told its to heavy to check

We have taken this design and are developing a line of products for Allen and heath, Yamaha and Digico. We also have designs in the works for instrument cases. Its difficult to invest so much time and finances in choosing that perfect peace of gear or instrument and then trust that the people handling it are going to care for it as much as you do. So putting it in a case that can protect your investment is important.

OCD-Low Mass cases are made of an aluminum extruded frames with a Polypropylene Panel that  has a Hunny Comb center. This is extremely strong and planet friendly, made of recycled materials and 80% liter then the same cases made with traditional materials. This opens up opportunities to fly equipment you couldn’t fly before or if your just looking to protect your gear and save your back getting it in and out of your vehicle, OCD-Low Mass is the way to go.
